Training for action

Rest assured, we're not going into this action unprepared. So we're planning a series of training sessions between now and the big day. Together we'll be going over the main principles governing mass non-violent direct action (or NVDA).

What exactly will these training sessions consist of?

  • A civil disobedience action: what is it and what is it for?
  • How do we communicate with each other during the action? How to make quick but inclusive decisions?
  • What happens if you are arrested? What rights do you have?
  • How can we make the action as enjoyable as possible for everyone?
  • What can we do in practice to make our action a success?
  • How do we deal with potential tensions?

These courses are aimed at people who are new to civil disobedience as well as experienced activists. It will also be an opportunity to get to know other committed citizens.

Other dates and venues will be added later, so keep an eye on the website and the various channels, especially the newsletter. If you would like to organise an action training course for your own group, please contact us.

Each course runs from 10am to 5pm, and participation is free, but registration is compulsory: click on one of the links below which will take you to the training website, and register there.
