Stop fossil gas! Let’s invite ourselves to Fluxys general assembly!

Join us on 9 May between 13-14h at Fluxys headquarters to let the shareholders of this gas giant know that the days of fossil gas and billion-dollar profits are over!

Do you already know Fluxys?
Fluxys manages the Belgian gas grid and the infrastructure through which fossil gas enters Belgium. Did you know that Fluxys is 77% owned by Belgian cities and municipalities? So Fluxys belongs to all of us, and should pursue the interests of all of us. But it doesn't. Because Fluxys is all about fossil gas....

Fossil gas is somewhat forgotten in climate debates. Politicians and gas companies call it "the cleanest fossil fuel". But fossil gas - and liquefied gas even more so - has a huge impact on the climate crisis, and on the health of local communities.Fluxys champions liquefied gas. In Europe, it is the largest importer of liquefied gas from Russia, and operates the largest import port for shale gas from the US. Moreover, it is investing in yet more fossil gas capacity and pipelines - with our money....

We say: stop! You too? Come to the Fluxys General Assembly on 9 May and make your voice heard. From 1pm to 2pm, when the board and shareholders arrive, we will gather in front of their headquarters to voice our opinions.

Also "Promote Ukraine" and the "Belgian Comittee of the European Network of Solidarity with Ukraine" come to testify about the devastating impact of the Russian war, co-funded by Fluxys. We will provide tasty vegan lunch and surprises to ensure atmosphere. So be sure to bring your protest sign with you!
