The money in our personal accounts constitutes capital that banks invest. Most often where it pays the most and the fastest.
Without thinking about the social and ecological impacts: arms and automobile industries, oil extraction, coal and rare minerals in war zones, deforestation of the Amazon... anything that brings quick profits is good!
By turning a blind eye to these practices, we make ourselves accomplices.
Let's send out a strong signal by withdrawing our money from the banks with practices we don’t agree with and placing it in cleaner banks that support projects that are more ecological, fairer and more equitable.
BankWijzer/Scan des banques is a Belgian campaign run by FairFin and Financité. The investment policies of Belgium's banks are scrutinized and rated on ten socially relevant themes, ranging from climate change and human rights to tax evasion and corruption.

Special mention to BNP Paribas, Europe's biggest financial backer of companies supplying arms to Israel. For years, BNP (“the bank of a changing world”) has granted them billions of euros in loans and bonds.
